Children are taught from the Age of 4.
The children come to learn in a fun environment. Ballroom Dancing gives a child confidence, posture, social, mental and physical skills.
Children learn basic steps in Social Slow and Quick Rhythms, Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz in Ballroom and in the Latin they learn Jive, Samba, Rumba, Cha-Cha-Cha and Paso Doble. There is also opportunity to Charleston, Rock n roll and dance in Group Routines.
When they have completed basic steps they continue to learn more advanced steps.
Under 8’s – lessons are 30mins and all other lessons are 45 minutes.
Children may take part in demonstrations at various events, where rehearsals would be needed. More recently they performed for Parkinson’s UK Annual Event and auditioned for the Goodwood Revival. We will continue to work on local events as I feel this encourages confidence when performing to various audiences.
The Children also take ISTD medals. They receive a medal or trophy as well as a certificate.
When they compete, they dance at medal level. All competitors
wear competitive clothing and travel to various competitions within the south.
Competing is a commitment from both parent and child. Once qualified in the regionals, they then dance at the Grand Finals – Blackpool.
All children are required to wear uniformed practice wear and correct dance shoes which must all have suede soles.
Uniform and shoes can be ordered through us. Simply get get in touch.
